SunSibility has always been about more than clothing. For 25 years, our purpose has been to help people enjoy life outdoors with greater comfort, confidence and freedom, while making practical UV protection easier to understand and bring into everyday routines.
Our founder, Angeli Jackson, cares deeply about raising awareness, sharing guidance and listening to people who need specialist sun protection in daily life. That purpose shapes the products we develop, the charities and organisations we support, and the conversations we join, helping us extend our impact beyond clothing and connect people with valuable information, resources and support.
As we celebrate 25 years of SunSibility, our involvement in Scrubs to Sequins, our support for Dan’s Fund For Burns and Angeli’s September 2026 Lifestyle magazine feature in Cyprus have brought that purpose into focus.
These moments are different in setting, but they share a common thread: helping people feel informed, supported and confident enough to get on with the activities and experiences they value.

Did you know? SunSibility was founded in 2001, making 2026 our 25th year. What does confident outdoor living mean to you?
Where SunSibility Began
SunSibility was founded by Angeli in 2001 with a simple idea: sun protection could be practical, stylish and comfortable enough to become part of everyday life.
Having studied Product Development for the Fashion Industries at London College of Fashion, Angeli had the background to explore how fashion and function could work together. With support from a start-up loan from The Prince’s Trust, that idea began to take shape.
Listening was central from the beginning. Angeli spoke with people living with lupus, vitiligo, porphyria, eczema and other sun-sensitive conditions. Those conversations helped shape the direction of SunSibility and the kind of products people wanted to wear in real life.

Scrubs to Sequins: Clothing, Confidence and Community

We were honoured to be part of the Scrubs to Sequins CW+ fundraising fashion show at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in April 2026.
It was a warm, uplifting and memorable event, and we would like to congratulate Anette Newman ( & Slay Royale ) on her amazing vision for Scrubs to Sequins. We are also grateful to the management of Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for supporting that vision and helping to make the event possible, as well as to the fabulous hospital staff and models who brought such energy, confidence and personality to the runway.
Hospital staff swapped scrubs for sequins for an evening that celebrated creativity, culture and community while raising money for CW+, the hospital charity. The atmosphere was truly special, and it was a huge achievement for everyone involved. Angeli felt incredibly proud to be part of it and is already looking forward to the next one.
For SunSibility, the evening captured something we have believed for a long time: clothing can be practical and purposeful while still helping people feel confident and fully themselves.
Specialist UV-protective clothing does not need to sit apart from fashion. It can be styled, enjoyed and worn as part of a wardrobe for holidays, celebrations, city days, outdoor lunches or ordinary routines. Seeing clothing brought to life on a runway made that message feel especially tangible.
You can see more of the atmosphere in the Scrubs to Sequins Facebook post and video reel.
Supporting Dan’s Fund For Burns

Our commitment to practical UV protection also connects us with organisations supporting people whose needs extend far beyond clothing.
We are proud to support Dan’s Fund For Burns, the leading adult burns charity in the UK. The charity supports burn survivors and NHS burn services financially, emotionally and practically.
We would also like to recognise Polly and the remarkable work she has done through Dan’s Fund For Burns. Her personal story, and the strength and determination behind the charity, are truly inspiring. We would encourage anyone unfamiliar with Dan’s Fund to take the time to read Polly’s story and learn more about the experiences that led to the charity’s creation and the support it provides today, Truly Amazing !
This relationship matters to us because recovery after a serious burn can involve long-term changes to daily life. The right information, practical support and suitable products can all play a part in helping somebody feel more comfortable and prepared.
Needs differ from person to person. We want to make it easier for people to explore practical options, ask questions and find products that suit their circumstances. That is also why we continue to highlight charities, support networks and specialist organisations through our Helpful Links page.
For Angeli, raising awareness, sharing useful information and pointing people towards trusted support are all part of the same purpose that has guided SunSibility from the beginning.
Sun Protection Reimagined in Lifestyle Magazine

September 2026 brought another special moment when Angeli was featured in Lifestyle magazine in Cyprus. The feature, titled “Sun Protection, Reimagined: Meet Angeli Jackson, the Woman Making UV Protection Fashionable All Year Round”, looked back at the story of SunSibility and the idea that protection and personal style can coexist.
The full September issue can be viewed on Issuu, while Angeli also shared her thanks and reflections in this Instagram post.
We were delighted to see SunSibility’s message presented to a wider fashion and lifestyle audience. For many people, sun protection is something to think about throughout the year, whether they are travelling, walking, gardening, sailing, eating outdoors or getting on with everyday life.
The feature also reflected Angeli’s longstanding connection with fashion. SunSibility has taken its message into fashion settings including Cyprus and Liverpool Fashion Week, helping to show that practical UV protection and personal style can belong in the same conversation. You can read more about those moments in our 2025 review.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Amanda Lifestyle PR and Lifestyle Magazine Cyprus for the lovely feature and their support for Angeli’s work. We are also grateful to @tia_does_travel and @within_cads for being part of the imagery, and we look forward to reconnecting with friends and supporters at Liverpool Fashion Week in November.
Looking Ahead: Preparing for Changing Weather
Thinking ahead is part of sun awareness too. The Met Office’s future weather forecast for 2050 illustrates some of the conditions the UK could experience by summer 2050 under a high-emissions scenario.
The exercise discusses rising temperatures and other physical climate changes, and notes that the UK recorded temperatures above 40°C for the first time in 2022.
It is important to be precise about what this means. The Met Office scenario is not a prediction that UV levels themselves will necessarily become stronger. What it does underline is the value of thinking ahead about how changing summer conditions may influence the way we work, travel and spend time outdoors.
For us, preparation is about making outdoor life easier, not avoiding it. A few simple habits can help people feel ready for the day:
- Check the UV Index alongside the weather forecast.
- Choose clothing and coverage that suit your plans.
- Keep a hat, sunglasses or other useful accessories somewhere easy to reach.
- Use suitable sun cream on exposed areas.
- Make use of shade and take breaks when that feels right for you.
The goal is confidence and choice. We want people to enjoy gardens, beaches, holidays, sport, travel, family occasions and everyday outdoor life while having practical options available when they need them.
Practical UV Protection That Fits Real Life
There is no single sun-protection routine that suits everybody. Some people need specialist protection because of photosensitivity or a health condition, while others simply want to make UV awareness part of the way they dress and plan their day.
That is why our approach extends beyond one garment or one category. Depending on your needs and plans, a practical toolkit might include:
- UPF 50+ clothing
- Head and face protection
- Gloves, wraps or other accessories
- Sunglasses
- An umbrella or shade product
- Suitable sun cream for areas not covered by clothing
Our collections are designed to make it easier to build protection around your own routine.
What matters most is finding an approach you are comfortable using consistently. For one person, that may mean a lightweight layer for a city break. For another, it may mean fuller coverage for everyday life. Choice is central to what we do.
We also continue to share guidance alongside our products, helping people understand the different options available as circumstances change.
More Than Clothing, Then and Now
Twenty-five years after SunSibility began, our purpose still comes back to people.
Scrubs to Sequins reminded us of the confidence and connection that clothing can create. Dan’s Fund For Burns reflects the importance of practical, compassionate support. Our Cyprus magazine feature showed how UV protection can belong within the wider fashion and lifestyle conversation. The Met Office’s look towards 2050 reminds us that being prepared for changing outdoor conditions will continue to matter.
We will keep raising awareness, sharing guidance, listening to our community and searching for practical ways to help people feel comfortable and confident outdoors.
Sunshine is part of life. Our role is to help more people enjoy it in a way that feels informed, prepared and fully their own.
